And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with Him I am well pleased.” MATTHEW 3:17 NIV

Can you imagine what it would be like to get a public endorsement from God? Think of God Himself coming to your church, your neighborhood, or your family and boldly declaring, “This is my child, whom I love; with them I am well pleased.”

The amazing thing is that through Christ, this is what God would say if He showed up where we live, work, and play. We have been given the righteousness of Christ. As Hebrews 10:14 says, “By one sacrifice He has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.” In God’s eyes, we are perfect. We are enough.

That verse also says we are being made holy. We are always in the process of becoming more like Christ. But what God declares about who we are at the very center of our identity is the same that He declared about His Son. He loves us. He is pleased with us. God fully loves Christ, and through Christ He fully loves us.

So pause for a moment and listen as God says to your heart today, “You are my child, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”
