A Delightful Way to Start Your Day
Then, as soon as they had come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid on it, and bread. Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish which you have just caught.”…Jesus said to them, “Come and eat breakfast.” JOHN 21:9-13 NKJV
Jesus gathered those He loved around an open fire in the early morning hours to share some breakfast together. He used this informal setting to reveal Himself to them after His resurrection. He reassured them in their uncertainty and refreshed them in their weariness. He was able to turn their difficult evening into a glorious new day.
What kind of night did you have? Did you toss and turn, have a difficult dream, get restless, or fail to sleep soundly? Has your experience in the night left you weary in the morning? Thankfully, you don’t have to take that kind of a night into your day. Come aside and quiet your heart in the presence and fellowship of Jesus. Let Him assure you, renew you, and refresh you in your weariness. Let Him be to you all that you need for this day.
Everything that you need for this day is found in Jesus. Jesus is enough! His presence is enough to keep you content. His joy is enough to keep you strong. His sufficiency is enough to keep you fulfilled. His grace is enough to keep you peaceful. His holiness is enough to keep you pure. His power is enough to keep you victorious. His love is enough to keep you walking through this day with a song in your heart.
