Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
MATTHEW 19:26 NIV

Recently, my husband and I visited Europe on a long-awaited vacation.
I was in awe of the beautiful old cathedrals,
the elaborate palaces, and ancient ruins.
But the thing that impacted me most—much more than any museum or historical site—was the people
No matter what country we visited, or what language was being spoken, it struck me that people are pretty much the same everywhere.
We all want to be loved and to have meaning in our lives.
Most importantly, we all—even before we realize who He is—have a longing to know Jesus. The man selling me a pastry in Paris, the conductor taking our tickets on the train in Frankfurt, the tour guide in Rome—these are all people on a journey, just like me.
I don’t know how God has revealed Himself to them in their lives thus far, but I know He loves them and wants to draw them to Himself.
Maybe they already know Jesus, or maybe they are just realizing they need a Savior.
Some people seem so closed off and filled with hurt
that I wonder how they will ever open their hearts to God’s forgiveness and love.
But then I’m reminded of Jesus’ encouraging words:
“With God all things are possible.” I know that it is not my job to “fix” or to change the people I encounter on my journeys—that is His work. But I can love them in my own small way with the love He has given me. Who knows how He may use a kind word or gesture to help heal the heart of someone I encounter along the way?
